In The Trenches Synopsis

We are in the winter of 1944 and the slow and difficult advance of the Allied forces in central Italy is underway. On a moonlit night, a small group of Italian soldiers joined the Anglo-American troops after the 1943 armistice. Waiting to attack the German line near the Abbey of Montecassino, the young soldiers are accompanied by homesickness, accusations of treason for not joining the Republic of Salò, and the terror of German snipers.
